 A rather interesting and attractive tree that blooms pink hibiscus like flowers in mid fall. Having thorns lining its trunk and branches this tree will grow over 40 feet tall and 30 feet wide. Liking full sun, regular watering in will draining soil with a soil PH between 5.1 to 7.5. Cold hardy down to USDA Zone 9b (25 degrees F). This tree is common to bonsai so if you are not lucky enough to live in a zone where this tree can be grown outside it can be kept small enough with bonsai methods and moved indoors of cold winter nights. Works great as specimens, large centerpieces in yards, anchors in flowerbeds providing shade for under-story plants and bonsai.
