A beautiful and easy to grow succulent with dark green foliage. Blooming red (sometimes pale almost pink) flowers from spring to early summer. Growing to 4 to 6 feet tall with a very pronounced base and exposed roots. They are popularly grown in containers to easily achieve a bonsai look. Liking full sun, regular watering in very well draining soil and a soil ph between 6.6 to 7.8. Cold hardy down to USDA Zone 9b (25 degrees F, protect from frost). They work great as specimens, planted in flowerbeds and cactus gardens, planted in decorative containers and grown in warm sun rooms.
